Humanitarian Cardiac Screening for Orphaned Children
UOWA College of Medicine Advances Compassionate Health Outreach in Karbala

In a remarkable demonstration of social responsibility and humanitarian commitment, the College of Medicine at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (UOWA), in collaboration with the Al-Rahma Organization for Child Health, launched a free cardiac screening initiative for orphaned children affiliated with the Imam Al-Ridha Charitable Foundation,

Supervised by a specialized medical team and attended by UOWA President, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, the program provided comprehensive cardiovascular examinations aimed at the early detection of potential heart conditions and the provision of appropriate medical guidance and follow-up care.

Beyond its humanitarian dimension, this initiative served as a live clinical learning experience for medical students, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge in real-world medical settings. The engagement fostered professional competence, ethical awareness, and empathy  qualities that form the cornerstone of UOWA’s medical education philosophy.

Through initiatives such as this, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa continues to bridge the gap between academic excellence and community service, contributing directly to the goals of sustainable health, wellbeing, and social inclusion. This aligns with the University’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing) and reinforces its role as an active contributor to the wellbeing of society.
