UOWA Student Sustainability Society

The UOWA Student Sustainability Society (UOWA-SSS) is an officially recognised student-led organisation at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, established in 2024 under the supervision of the Office of Student Affairs. Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students across every college, the Society exists to engage the UOWA student community in meaningful sustainability action, education, and advocacy — on campus, in Karbala, and beyond.

UOWA-SSS organises a wide range of activities including sustainability awareness campaigns, campus clean-up and tree-planting events, energy and water conservation drives, community volunteering in Karbala Governorate, and student-led research and innovation projects. The Society actively contributes to the University's sustainability goals and supports UOWA's performance in the QS World University Sustainability Rankings and UI GreenMetric, providing student-led evidence of campus sustainability engagement.

Membership is free and open to all registered UOWA students. To join, contact the Office of Student Affairs or reach us through the UOWA student portal.
