The University continues to strengthen its financial commitment to sustainability by integrating environmental, social, and economic priorities into its annual budgeting process. Between 2022 and 2024, the University's total annual budget averaged USD 9,609,422, with an average of 10.2% allocated to sustainability-related initiatives. During this period, the average annual investment in sustainability reached USD 979,803, demonstrating a consistent institutional commitment to green infrastructure, renewable energy, resource efficiency, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable campus development.

In 2024, the sustainability budget reached USD 1,260,931, representing one of the University's highest sustainability investments to date. In 2025, the University's total annual budget increased to USD 16 million, reflecting a significant phase of institutional expansion through the establishment of new colleges and the introduction of additional academic programmes. While this growth required substantial investment in new academic facilities, laboratories, teaching resources, staffing, and student services, it also created new opportunities to embed sustainability principles into the University's expanding infrastructure, curriculum, and research activities. This strategic expansion ensures that institutional growth and sustainable development continue to progress hand in hand, strengthening the University's long-term capacity to deliver environmental, social, and economic impact.

Sustainability Research: A Core Focus of Academic Investment

Research remains one of the University's strongest contributions to sustainable development and is a key driver of innovation across all academic disciplines.

As of 2025, University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa researchers have produced 2,859 Scopus-indexed publications, of which 2,201 publications are aligned with one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sustainability-related research therefore represents approximately 77.0% of the University's total scientific output, demonstrating that sustainability has become a defining characteristic of the University's research profile.

Since the University's establishment, a total of USD 1,900,374 has been invested in sustainability-focused research. Annual funding has increased consistently, reflecting the University's expanding investment in research that addresses environmental protection, renewable energy, sustainable engineering, healthcare innovation, responsible resource management, climate resilience, and broader sustainable development priorities.

In 2025, the University allocated USD 530,000 to research activities, of which USD 325,000 was dedicated specifically to sustainability research. Consequently, 61.3% of the University's total research funding supported sustainability-focused projects, highlighting the University's strategic commitment to advancing knowledge and innovation that directly contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Both operational investments and research funding are publicly documented and directly aligned with the University's sustainability framework, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.

These investments have already translated into tangible achievements across the campus, including the expansion of renewable energy systems, improvements in energy and water efficiency, enhanced biodiversity conservation, modern sustainable infrastructure, and a rapidly growing portfolio of sustainability-focused research.
