Renewable Energy Pledge
The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (UOWA) has publicly pledged to achieve 100% renewable energy across its operations by 2030. The University Council approved the pledge on 13 January 2025.
Taking the pledge beyond the University
On 12 July 2025, UOWA's College of Engineering held a renewable energy workshop in the Conference Hall on the University campus. Twenty-five representatives from six companies and industrial facilities attended.
At the workshop, UOWA:
- presented its pledge to reach 100% renewable energy by 2030;
- discussed renewable energy opportunities for local industry;
- invited each participating organisation to set its own renewable energy target.
Results
- Three participating organisations signed a pledge to move towards 100% renewable energy by 2030.
- Five organisations asked the University for follow-up support with their renewable energy plans.
