Pedestrian & Active Mobility Infrastructure

The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa places strong emphasis on pedestrian-friendly and active mobility within its campus. The campus is designed as a compact, walkable site, reducing the need for internal shuttle services and encouraging walking as the primary mode of transportation.

Pedestrian pathways are durable, non-slip, and regularly maintained, ensuring safety and accessibility for all users. Pathways are well-marked, wide, and directly connected to key facilities, including parking zones, shuttle stops, lecture halls, and student service areas. Design features such as benches, landscaped lawns, street lighting, signage, and trash bins enhance comfort, usability, and aesthetic appeal.

Accessibility is prioritised: ramps, elevators, and universal design principles ensure inclusive mobility for individuals with disabilities. The campus also supports cycling, with conventional and electric bicycles available, complemented by secure bike parking.

By promoting walking, cycling, and other low-emission modes of transport, the university reduces its carbon footprint, improves community health, and fosters an environmentally responsible campus culture.

These initiatives align with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), highlighting the university’s leadership in sustainable, safe, and accessible campus mobility.
