UOWA Supports Water Conservation at Fadak Farm through Engineering and IT Expertise
The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (UOWA) provides practical support for water conservation off campus at Fadak Farm, an independently operated farm of approximately 5 km² that is not owned by the university.
Support provided by UOWA
College of Engineering: designed the farm’s drip irrigation network and provided technical consultations on efficient irrigation.
College of Computer Science, Department of Information Technology: set up soil-moisture sensors and programmed weather-based irrigation scheduling, so that water application follows soil and weather conditions.
Training: on 14 June 2025, a team from UOWA delivered a free workshop at Fadak Farm on water conservation and the rational use of irrigation water. It reached 73 farmers and covered efficient irrigation practices, minimizing unnecessary water consumption, and responsible management of available water resources.
