Transportation Sustainability at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa
The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa is committed to advancing sustainable transportation by reducing reliance on private vehicles, expanding access to low-emission alternatives, and enhancing campus mobility infrastructure. With a current vehicle-to-population ratio of just 1.5% (137 vehicles for 8,953 people), the university demonstrates a low dependency on cars compared to regional benchmarks.
Key initiatives include the introduction of electric and hybrid vehicles, the provision of free shuttle bus services operating several times daily, and the expansion of cycling and walking facilities. Parking areas occupy only 2.8% of the campus footprint, following a deliberate 15% reduction to prioritise green and pedestrian-friendly spaces. ICT-enabled transport management further supports route optimisation and emissions reduction.
Through these integrated efforts, the university is creating a campus environment that is more sustainable, accessible, and aligned with international best practices in green mobility.
