In 2024, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa advanced sustainability across infrastructure, operations, and community engagement. Key achievements include over 55% water savings through conservation and recycling, energy efficiency upgrades (LED lighting, HVAC, IT systems), expanded solar capacity (~11,000 kW), and comprehensive waste management with ~70–74% treatment of organic/inorganic waste.
Transportation initiatives, including EVs, shared mobility, and optimized routes, kept private vehicle reliance minimal (~1.5%). Governance frameworks, policies, and ICT integration underpin these efforts, ensuring alignment with SDGs (3, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17). Future goals target full smart metering, higher wastewater reuse, expanded low-emission transport, and enhanced community engagement, reinforcing Iraq’s leadership in sustainable higher education.
