History of Sustainability at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa
The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has established a modern and progressively expanding record in sustainability. Since its founding, the University has embedded sustainable development principles across its academic and operational frameworks, with a particular emphasis on environmentally oriented disciplines. This commitment is reflected in the University’s repeated recognition in global sustainability rankings, including the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, as well as in assessments of compliance with national environmental sustainability standards conducted by ministerial committees in 2025.
Key Stages of Sustainability Engagement:
Alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): From its inception, the University has sought to integrate sustainable development objectives into its curriculum and research priorities, focusing on areas such as renewable energy and environmental protection.
Ranking Achievements: Reflecting these efforts, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa achieved a global ranking within the range of 1001–1500 in the current Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.
Ministerial Assessments: In 2025, a joint delegation from the Ministries of Higher Education and Environment visited the University to evaluate its adherence to sustainability standards. The visit examined key areas including water management, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure, as part of the “Sustainable University” evaluation program.
Student Engagement in Development Programs: In 2023, University students participated in the “Sustainable Development Leadership Program” held at the British University in Egypt, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to cultivating future sustainability leaders.
