The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa maintains one of the lowest private vehicle ratios among higher education institutions in the region. With only 137 registered vehicles serving a total population of 8,953 students and staff, the university records a vehicle-to-population ratio of 1.5%. This figure reflects a strategic effort to reduce reliance on private cars and promote more sustainable mobility alternatives.
To further minimise on-campus emissions and congestion, the university provides a free shuttle bus service. These buses operate on fixed schedules throughout the day, connecting the campus with nearby residential areas and key city points. The service is designed to encourage collective commuting, reduce the need for individual car ownership, and ease pressure on parking infrastructure.
Parking space on campus is deliberately limited to 2.8% of the total campus area, following a planned 15% reduction in parking allocation in recent years. This approach reflects a broader commitment to prioritising pedestrian movement, green landscaping, and low-emission mobility solutions.
Together, the low vehicle ratio, shuttle services, and reduced parking footprint form a coherent transport policy that reduces greenhouse gas emissions, supports urban sustainability goals, and aligns with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
