The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa is committed to protecting the personal data of its students, staff, applicants, alumni, research participants, and visitors. Our data-protection framework is aligned with the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and operates within the Republic of Iraq's legal framework, including the constitutional right to privacy. The framework is governed by the following four instruments, approved by the University Council and overseen by the University's Data Protection Officer in Legal Affairs:
Data Protection and Privacy Policy
the University's governing policy on how personal data are collected, used, stored, shared, and protected, including data-subject rights, consent, security, retention, and lawful processing.
Designation of the Data Protection Officer
the University Council decree appointing an independent Data Protection Officer within Legal Affairs as the central point of contact for data-protection matters.
Data Protection Compliance Audit Framework
the framework under which the University regularly audits, reviews, and continuously improves its data-protection practices across all units and systems.
Personal Data Breach Response Procedure
the procedure for detecting, managing, and communicating personal data breaches, and for notifying affected individuals where required.
