Aircraft Engineering Students Visit Baghdad International Airport As part of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa’s commitment to connecting academic knowledge with practical applications, 25 second-year students from the Department of Aircraft Engineering participated in a field visit to Baghdad International Airport. The visit aimed to strengthen students’ practical knowledge and connect their academic studies with real-world applications in the field of aircraft engineering. Exploring Iraqi Airways Facilities The visit focused on a number of facilities operated by Iraqi Airways and technical areas related to aircraft maintenance. Students were introduced to a range of specialized procedures and technologies, including: Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of aircraft components and spare parts. Aircraft engine maintenance. Aircraft wheel and component maintenance. Comprehensive aircraft maintenance operations. Students also received detailed explanations from experienced engineers and technical specialists about civil aircraft systems, their operation, and maintenance procedures. The visit included exposure to aircraft models such as the Boeing 737, Airbus A320, and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Enhancing Practical Experience The field visit provided students with an opportunity to experience a real-world aviation working environment and gain a better understanding of engineering responsibilities, technical procedures, aircraft maintenance practices, and safety requirements. This activity forms part of the efforts of the Department of Aircraft Engineering at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa to provide students with practical learning experiences, strengthen the applied dimension of academic education, and better prepare graduates for professional careers in aircraft and aviation engineering.
